10 Easy Steps to Wellness
Small daily practices to gently change your life.
Wellness doesn’t have to be complicated. In my experience, it’s often the simplest habits—practiced consistently—that create the biggest shifts. These are ten practices that have helped me feel more grounded, peaceful, and connected to myself.
1. Start your day with gratitude.
Before you even get out of bed, say a simple mantra of thanks. It can be as easy as, “Thank you for another day,” or “I’m grateful to be here.” Beginning the morning with gratitude changes the lens through which you see the rest of the day.
2. Stay open to other ways of thinking.
You don’t have to agree with everyone, but being willing to consider a different perspective keeps you curious and growing. Sometimes the idea that changes your life is one you never expected.
3. Believe that there are better options available.
When life feels stuck, remind yourself that what you see today isn’t the only possibility. Better relationships, careers, opportunities, and ways of living often appear once we believe they can.
4. Spend at least 10 minutes in silence every day.
Sit or lie down without distractions. No phone, no television, no music—just quiet. Let your nervous system settle and give yourself permission to simply exist.
5. Choose two to four stretches you enjoy and practice them daily.
Hold each stretch for about three minutes. This Yin yoga–inspired approach gently improves flexibility while teaching patience, presence, and the ability to be comfortable with stillness.
6. Eat vegetarian for 10 days.
Treat it as an experiment rather than a rule. Notice how your body feels when your meals are centered around vegetables, fruits, legumes, grains, nuts, and seeds. You might be surprised by what you discover.
7. Read something spiritual or inspirational each morning.
Spend a few minutes with words that nourish your mind before the world starts demanding your attention. A thoughtful passage can shape your entire day.
8. Listen to your gut first, your heart second, and your mind third.
Your intuition often notices things before your conscious mind can explain them. Let your instincts guide you, allow your heart to weigh in, and then use your intellect to help make sense of it all.
9. Imagine your younger self and talk to them every day.
Picture yourself as a child. Offer encouragement, reassurance, and love. Speak to that version of you with the kindness and protection they deserved all along.
10. Keep showing up.
You don’t need to be perfect. You don’t need to do everything at once. Wellness is built through small choices repeated over time. Miss a day, forgive yourself, and begin again tomorrow.
I truly believe that profound change doesn’t come from dramatic overhauls. It comes from gentle, consistent acts of caring for yourself.
One grateful thought.
Ten minutes of silence.
A few stretches.
A nourishing meal.
A conversation with your inner child.
Done day after day, these simple practices can create a life that feels calmer, healthier, and more aligned with who you really are. ❤️
